What is Pilates

Pilates is an exercise program that focuses on breathing.  It uses mind-body awareness to strengthen and support the core  to enhance postural alignment. 

What are the benefits of pilates?

Benefits of pilates include:

  • Greater coordination and endurance
  • Movement with grace and ease
  • Long, lean muscle tone

Who can benefit from studio pilates?

Anyone at any age can benefit from studio pilates (pilates classes conducted in a studio with equipment) - from young children through to the elderly.

Studio Pilates also benefits those:

  • with injuries
  • working through rehabilitation
  • who just wnat to feel taller
  • who want to be more flexible
  • who want to keep joints moving

 If you can attend a pilates studio two to three times a week, you will notice a difference.

What exercises will i do?

You will learn a wide range of exercises.  There is equipment to assist or resist, to support your exercise program.
